The mission of Fallbrook A Leer/Reading Family Literacy Event, Cesar Chavez Day of Service and Learning is two-fold:
- To support the academic achievement of all children in Fallbrook through the encouragement of reading as a family tradition and instill the love of reading as a life-long trait.
- To encourage students - and adults - to provide meaningful service to their community, giving back so we can all move ahead.

With 33 branches and 2 bookmobiles, SDCL serves over one million residents across a 4,000 square mile county including a branch in Fallbrook. SDCL's mission is to inform, educate, inspire, and entertain. Conferred the national 2012 Library of the Year award by Library Journal and Gale, SDCL provides sanctuaries for all ages and has its finger on the pulse of the community.
